CAT Welders available at Pro-Weld Ireland

Experiments that resulted in the welder were conducted by the Caterpillar research and development teams in the late 1950s. In 1965, CAT welders were first marketed by Caterpillar using a new welding process developed by their engineers for a range of industrial uses. After thousands of experiments and applications, the dependability and capabilities of the welder were proved at the 1965 American Welding Society Convention in Chicago.

The first two machines were used in Caterpillar plants in East Peoria, Illinois, and Glasgow, Scotland. One of the first machine sales was to an automotive plant in Russia.

This welding machine is Tig mode so it can weld with Lift Tig Mode. It’s equipped with temperature, voltage and current sensors for high protection.

It also welds cellulosic electrodes and has a variable amperage control with digital meter for a simultaneous welding current display. It’s low weight and generator friendly as it’s designed to work with diesel generators and to avoid failures due to its voltage spikes. The CAT DZ 221 includes 1.5m earth clamp and 1.5m electrode holder.

We also sell the ‘CAT DZ 251 ST Inverter TIG Welding Machine 220v’ at Pro-Weld. It is multi-purpose as a MMA/TIG welder and has a high frequency TIG mode. This CAT welder is equipped with temperature, voltage and current sensors for high protection and is generator friendly. It’s designed to work with diesel generators and to avoid failures due to its voltage spikes. It includes a 2 metre earth.

Another CAT welder on offer at Pro-Weld Ireland is the ‘CAT DZ 281 AC/DC PULSE Inverter Welding Machine.’ It’s a high build quality Tig welder with full functionality for aluminium and alloy welding. It has AC balance control which monitors the oxide and helps better cleaning during aluminium welding.

It’s equipped with temperature, voltage and current sensors for high protection, pulse welding with complete adjustment. It’s also supplied 1.5 metre earth lead.

The final CAT welder available for purchase at Pro-Weld is the ‘CAT DZ 261 PFC MIG MULTI Dual Voltage Inverter Welding Machine.’

It’s energy saving and has a wider input voltage and the welder works with 110V and 230V. The CAT DZ 261 has a multilanguage instruction manual on board, VRD technology and synergic function.

Other features of this welder are that it has a LCD display with 260,000 colours, it’s capable of loading up to 5KG spool and is equipped with temperature, voltage and current sensors for high protection.
